Pol Pot in Swedish Exile

Pol Pot was seen arriving to Arlanda airport outside Stockholm, Sweden on Monday, June 30. Made comments about Hong Kong before going into seclusion.

Pol Pot arrived Monday afternoon to Arlanda airport outside Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. He was picked up by officials from the Komintern, presiding in Stockholm. Komintern has reportedly conducted secret negotia tions with Swedish officials to ensure his refugee status.

Before going into seclusion Pol Pot criticized China for selling out its ideals and accepting the transfer of Hong Kong from the British.

Referring to Pol Pot with his former name, a spokesman for Komintern commented: "We are glad that Sweden extended this favor to Saloth Sar. He is an old man now and this is in line with Sweden's proud tradition o f providing shelter to persecuted individuals. Even if the decision was not taken on the level of the state department it is a great tribute to Pol Pot's legacy".

Komintern lauds the self-sufficient and rural class-less society that the French educated intellectual elite in Kampuchea envisioned. "The goal of a society without inequalities and conflicts, based on nationalistic brotherhood and companionship is w hat counts. Pol Pot's vision was very powerful . He wanted it too soon however. We regret that he did not have Chairman Mao's stoicism".

Pol Pot is now in seclusion outside Stockholm and according to Komintern spokesmen he will be writing his memoirs. "There has been so much distortion of facts around the Khmer Rouge and their radical social experiment. Komintern is happy to help Pol Pot present his view of history".
